So, this weekend we've joined the HDTV family. 42" Phillips 9632, the ambilight.

And with a new TV comes a lot of fun connecting things to it.. and so far i was able to get my laptop on it via S-video, where nvidia driver decides that 1024x768 is all it should do for that connection.
Got no DVI or HDMI on this card (nvidia 8600), so i was thinking on making use of the VGA port, but that's going analog -> digital which sounds like i'll need some serious converter.

i found a few decent ideas googling this but figured i'll bring this up here too. anyone played with stuff like that?

you may not need to do HDMI...i think with that model card the s video isn't 9 pin and is 7 pin which means you possibly need to get one of these:
